The Botanicals Collection represents the pinnacle of our achievements at Pyramid Valley.
Since their release in 2006 they have created a new dimension for fine New Zealand wine, illustrating the incredible impact of this remarkable vineyard. They are wines that truly breathe of their place.

We are delighted to introduce you to the newest addition to the Botanicals Collection, our Snake's Tongue Pinot Noir.
Made from the deeper soils sitting just above the bed of the Low Burn (stream) and named after the colloquial name for blue borage that is endemic throughout the vineyard, ‘Snake’s Tongue’ is the first of the Botanicals Collection wines to come from outside our Waikari home vineyard and the only Botanicals Collection wine from the 2021 vintage.

Due to early spring frosts and a cool flowering that reduced yeilds in Waikari, this is the first time since taking over the guardianship of Pyramid Valley that we will not see a collection of Botanicals wines from our home vineyard. Such is fine winemaking on th edge of the earth, in one of the most dramatic winegrowing enviroments. Instead, we are digging deep into the cellar to share with you a special selection of library Botanicals from Waikari alongside the Snake's Tongue Pinot Noir from our Manata Estate in Central Otago.
